Lo1:
-has two regions, North Africa and Southwest Asia

- defend Egypt against foreigners
- represented the gods on earth
- performed rituals and built temples to honor the gods

The Egyptians created a new way to bury dead bodies called mummification.

mummification - a process in which the skin and flesh of a corpse can be preserved
hieroglyphic - writing consisting of hieroglyphs
papyrus - a species of aquatic flowering plant belonging to the sedge family Cyperaceae
2. I think that the most significant Egyptian accomplishment was the building of the pyramids as burial grounds for the mummies.
3. Being surrounded by dessert benefitted the Egyptians because it dried everything out. It was easier to mummify bodies and shut out invaders.
4. The Egyptians viewed the pharaoh as a god like figure. They worshipped the pharaoh as if he were a god.
5. Egyptians mummified bodies to prepare them for the afterlife. They included everything that they would need in the afterlife in the tomb of the person.
